Celebrating our 20th Anniversary

Founded in 2000, Bon Vivant began in Okie Dokie. Okie Dokie was the first antique and collectibles mall in Palm Springs to feature mid-century modern. In 2002, we moved to the Palm Canyon Galleria and grew from a small space to a central larger space. In 2013, we moved into our current location, the historic Albert Frey “Kocher Samson” building. The “Kocher Samson,” built in 1934, was the first modern International style building in Palm Springs.

Harley

Harley is Bon Vivant’s store cat. We like to say he came with the store as he started to come in everyday when we moved into our current location. In 2017, his owners moved away and we adopted him. He lives in Bon Vivant. He has his own Instagram hashtag: #harleythepalmspringscat

The Parker Hotel

In 2002, Jonathan Adler came to Palm Springs to design and furnish the Parker Hotel. He purchased glass bottles from the 1960-70s, which became a signature look for the hotel’s lobby along with other decorative accessories for use in the lobby, suites, and dining room. We continue to offer a wide selection of vintage glass.

Owls

Many people ask “why owls? We have always had a wide selection of owl figurines in glass, ceramics, metals, and wood. Our owl necklaces and pins are vintage 60s and 70s. Owls were a theme in the 70s. During the 70s, the combination of the oil embargo and high inflation became very trying for people. Owls became a symbol of wisdom and seeing through the dark. In the 70s, owls were also on fabrics, wallpapers, and made with macrame. One cannot recall the 70s without thinking of an owl.
